Korea Government used Riot Police against its People…

Korea Government used Riot Police against its People, and forcefully cracked down the Public in Peaceful Candlelight Vigil demonstration.(It’s happening RIGHT NOW).

Korean people exploded with rage against their new government led by President LEE. About forty thousands people have demonstrated in the heart of Seoul, Korea on March 24, 2008. Korean public have had enough of the policies that the new administration has implemented over the last 3 months since the new presidency began in February. People flooded the streets of Seoul, shouting out “Re-negotiate US Beef Import Agreement!” and also, “Impeach President Lee!”. The demonstration was progressing peacefully until the police started to intervene. This caused the peaceful demonstration to turn violent in the midst of innocent women and children. The police arrested 37 individuals so far with force who protested against the police arrest.

It started with the unilaterally unfair US beef import Agreement (MOU) against Korea that the Lee administration commenced with the U.S. in April that triggered peaceful candlelight vigils in early May 2008. To make matters worse the Lee administration has taken preposterous path in its new polices, and among them,

1) Privatization of public health insurance system;
2) Privatization of public utility systems, including water and gas;
3) Privatization of public libraries and museums;
4) Lenient tax policies much favored only for the rich people whose income composes the upper 1% of all Koreans;
5) Relocation of a critical military base in order to give a business favor to A conglomerate, called “Lotte Group,” for them to build an enormous size entertainment park, etc.

The Lee administration also began to censor the whole media, including the internet, newspaper, and telecommunication in various vicious ways to fool the public, and to cover up what the Lee government is doing to the Korea public.

Hence, tens of thousands of furious Koreans gathered in Seoul to express their opposition to these government’s new polices during the whole month of May, and the demonstration on May 24 2008 was one of those people’s peaceful protests against President Lee.

People remained in the street all night. at 4 am about 500 Korean citizens were still gathered on the street and continued their peaceful candlelight vigil at the Kwanghwamoon Plaza in Seoul. The police started to use water cannons against the public and were even taking reporters’ cameras away whenever they saw them.

Now, the Korean people are asking for your help from the outside, out of reach from the Lee government’s forceful crackdown on the peaceful protests, and censored media broadcasting.

The next candlelight vigil is scheduled on May 25, 2008, and we expect more people to join the demonstration against its government.

The Lee government, through the riot police, used force against its people for hours. Many people were hurt and the riot police used clubs and metal shields ON the senior people and the disabled protestors in the public.

The protestors were nothing but innocent Koreans who are concerned about their family and the country holding candles and a message they want to say to the government. What they did is only a peaceful march. There were babies, children, teenagers, pregnant women, the handicapped, and seniors. If it was a riot the government says, mothers would have not come to the place with their children.

———————

As I write this message, the governments started to use force and hurt innocent people. They blocked all new broadcasting from this area as well. They ALSO censored all international media from reporting what is happening right at this moment. PLEASE HELP US GET THE WORD OUT THAT THIS IS HAPPENING. Due to this media control, even some Koreans do not know what is happening in Seoul. PLEASE HELP US.

The responsibilities listed provide only a minimum general outline of what is required to serve as a KSA officer. Each officer should follow the guidelines specified below.
